Don't worry about what the devil does or will do. He can only do what he has been exposed to do—nothing more, nothing less.

It took me a long time to grasp this concept. Like many, I would be on high alert, looking for any avenue he might use to attack me or the people he might use to carry out his plan. I judged and addressed many situations wrongly because my premise was flawed.

We are often consumed by anticipating the enemy's next move. It seems logical: why not be prepared to counter any plot against me?

But what if we are missing the point? This enemy has already been judged and condemned. He has been exposed, and his operations are foretold in exact detail. Throughout history, his tactics have never changed; he never deviates from the narrative we have been provided.

So, why then do we fear, worry, and feel anxious about his antics? It is often because we are not dwelling where we need to be: in Christ. That is our fortified and secure place—a dwelling that is tested and found true, established so that you and I can be the children of God and be about our Father's business.

Remember this: destruction doesn't come because of the enemy; it comes because He who sits on the throne has already determined the ultimate situation, how, and when everything will happen.

Let this truth free us and bring us into our anchored home. As we fill our hearts with His Word and are filled with His Spirit, we will surely be about our Father's business.

Prayer

Thank you, Father, for your detailed and descriptive narratives foretold to us, and more importantly, thank you for a fortified dwelling and our ever-present navigation—the Holy Spirit. Amen
