He alludes to the end.
This statement from Isaiah lays the foundation for our understanding: God knows the end from the very beginning. His sovereignty reassures us that nothing takes Him by surprise, and His plans are never thwarted."Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me, declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure." (Isaiah 46:9–10)
There is plenty of evidence that shows what the outcome will be. Even though the signs are everywhere, we often overlook them or struggle to connect with them immediately.
Consider how, throughout history, God has revealed glimpses of His plan. The patterns and prophecies in Scripture guide us, preparing hearts for what lies ahead. Yet, there is a tendency in human nature to miss these signs, especially when they challenge our expectations or comfort.
A classic example of this is Jesus; the entire Old Testament alluded to a saviour's arrival, his birth, life, ministry, and what comes after, clearly given, and yet it was missed by the people who felt knowledgeable and decorated in the ranks of power that should have known.
Today, just as in ancient times, God word is still heard. The evidence of His purposes is woven into the events around us and the promises in His Word. Are we attentive, or do we risk missing His message as others once did?
What's God alluding to now? There's a stack of evidence that we cannot afford to miss. It's victory, no matter the chaos all around us. Jesus tells us we are more than conquerors through Him who strengthens us.
If we can wholeheartedly trust that we have a secure life in Christ and keep our eyes on God, we are definitely fine, and life is well-lived.
