The road to hell is paved with good intentions.
The world is filled with people with GOOD INTENTIONS. This classic proverb highlights how intentions alone, without careful consideration of consequences, can lead to negative outcomes.
Everyone tends to justify their actions as good and believes their approach is correct. Yet, the outcomes often differ from what we had hoped for.
Has that ever stopped us from going on? NOPE.
We have all acted with a sense of justification, believing we are right. Conclusions are drawn, emotions are stirred, opinions are formed, and judgments are passed—creating a turbulent scenario. Despite this, we remain confident in our actions, convinced that our intentions are good.
Eventually, we may realize that these GOOD INTENTIONS can cause us to turn against each other and, at times, even act with malice. Our sense of justification and confidence in being right can push us to harmful extremes.
Think about a time you had good intentions towards something or someone and had expectations of an outcome, but it somehow ended up a messy situation with no good results.
Think about a time someone handled a situation and you could tell they had good intentions in their approach, and yet it turned out to be a messy situation.
Life presents challenges that good intentions alone cannot resolve. Relying solely on good intentions is not the answer to the complexities and evolving nature of life. If unchecked, this approach can be destructive and do more harm than good.
Being grounded in our faith and guided by the Lord's presence (the Holy Spirit) is the surest way to navigate life's challenges. Rather than acting solely out of good intent, allow yourself to be led in all you do. This way, your actions will bear fruit that benefits not only you but everyone around you. Be guided.
